Introduction
Z-Shot (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our Chrome Extension.
100% Local Data Storage
We believe that your data belongs to you. Z-Shot is designed to be a local-first application:
- All screenshots, annotations, and project data are stored exclusively on your device.
- We do not operate any servers to store your captures.
- Your images and metadata never leave your browser unless you explicitly export them.
Information Collection
Z-Shot does not collect any personal information. We do not track your browsing history, your identity, or your location. We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking pixels.
Permissions Usage
To provide its core functionality, Z-Shot requires the following permissions:
- activeTab — to capture the visual content of the page you are currently viewing.
- storage — to save your settings and project metadata locally.
- scripting — to manage the scrolling and stitching process for full-page captures.
- contextMenus — to allow you to start a capture by right-clicking.
Third-Party Services
Z-Shot does not share your data with any third-party services. There are no advertisements, no tracking, and no hidden data-sharing mechanisms.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. As the extension runs locally, policy changes primarily reflect updates to the extension’s capabilities.
Summary: Your data is yours. It stays on your computer. We don’t see it, we don’t store it, and we don’t track you.
